3 ways to find steady remote work in 2022

Whether corporations want to admit it or not, COVID-19 ushered in a new work-from-home movement that is not going away anytime soon – or rather, ever. We’ve discovered that people are just as productive working from home, or in many cases, even more productive, as proven by this study.

The study uncovered that people are, on average, 13% more productive working from home, accrediting the productivity spike to personal scheduling freedom, comfort, and time-gained from not spending hours commuting every day.

Now that everyone has had a taste of personal autonomy in a working framework, the masses are rejecting office-bound jobs – and rightfully so.

If you’re someone who wants to join the ranks of work-from-homers, I am going to list three accredited places below where you can find legitimate, quality jobs that can be done from home, or anywhere in the world.

Where to Find Remote Work

1.     FlexJobs: Considered to be the ‘single most popular place online to find digital nomad jobs’ in 2022, FlexJobs is a high-quality job board that specializes in flexible work arrangements. With an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau and thousands of 5-star reviews from platform users, FlexJobs is becoming one of the top places to source short or long-term work arrangements that include hybrid structures or entirely remote contracts. Users can filter for remote jobs, research companies, and look over 26,824 jobs from 5,650 companies currently registered with the platform.

2.     Upwork: As one of the biggest freelancing marketplaces in the world, Upwork has made a name for itself as being a ‘higher quality alternative’ to Fiverr. All jobs posted on Upwork are freelancing roles that are completed in remote settings by freelancers.

If you want to start taking on Upwork freelancing work, I recommend doing the following:

  • ·      set up your profile thoroughly and establish trust by using high quality images, personalized messaging, and charisma-packed copy

  • ·      respond back to inquiries quickly to show clients you are serious about your freelancing work

  • ·      spend one-week creating a portfolio that reflects your capabilities, so clients immediately trust your claims

3.     Fiverr: Although Fiverr doesn’t always attract the highest paying clients in the game, it is still, in my opinion, the best place to get started as a freelancer with no previous experience. Clients do not expect as much from you as they do on Upwork and will be willing to take a chance on your profile, in exchange for a testimonial you can use in all future orders. Fiverr is anonymous and completely remote, which means you can manage a Fiverr profile from your couch or a beach halfway around the world.

I recommend following all the Upwork tips listed above, as well as adding in:

  • ·      Open at least 3 gigs to start on Fiverr to show clients this is your ‘full-time’ job

  • ·      Max out available gig add-ons so you can take orders from $25 to $100

  • ·      Include at least 3 samples of your work per gig, again, to reaffirm your expertise and build trust with potential clients

Now is the time to jump into the remote work game, before it becomes the widespread norm in the years to come. Getting in on the action before the masses arrive will give you an undoubted competitive advantage.
